A celebration of life for F. David Tedesco, 55, of Ringwood will be held at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in the auditorium of Pascack Valley High School, 200 Piermont Ave., Hillsdale. Arrangements are by the Vander Plaat Funeral Home of Wyckoff. Mr. Tedesco died Thursday in St. Michael's Hospital, Newark.

He was a high school teacher for the past 30 years at Pascack Valley High School, focusing on graphic arts, related arts and physics and technology.

For the past several years, Mr. Tedesco taught a class that became a cornerstone of the technology program he helped originate. The popular two-period class, which took place in Mr. Tedesco's converted woodshop room, combined the use of theoretical physics with hands-on mechanical engineering and construction. He guided students in developing entries for the annual Creative Design Challenge, a regional invention contest for high school seniors that the Pascack Valley team won last year.

Mr. Tedesco was a graduate of Kean University and also earned a master's degree in education industrial arts.

Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Fair Lawn and Franklin Lakes before moving to Ringwood.Surviving are his wife, Rita; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Tedesco, and a brother, Lawrence.
