Trina Dubowick (Shuart)

(14 June 1943 -  16 June 2014)

Trina Dubowick Shuart, 71, of South Harwich, Massachusetts, passed away on June 16, 2014 surrounded by her husband and three sons.

Trina was the daughter of Ted and Sophie (Wilochka) Dubowick and was born in the Bronx, NY. She spent her childhood in Fair Lawn, NJ and was a 1961 graduate of Fair Lawn High School. She and her family enjoyed spending summers at Lake Hopatcong (NJ) with friends and cousins. For several years she worked for Bell Telephone of New Jersey.

In August 1968, after a lengthy courtship, she married The Reverend Stephen Shuart, who survives. She was a homemaker and mother to three children: Thor (Mary) Shuart of Feeding Hills, MA, Dr. Joshua (Jennifer) Shuart of Ansonia, CT, and Dr. Noah Gregory Shuart of Vancouver, BC. She has three beloved grandchildren – Audrey, Max and Reese Shuart.

Other survivors include her sister Lynn (Bill) Jarosinski and nephew Ted Jarosinski of Haverstraw, NY and her brother, Terence (Carol) Dubowick and nephew Michael Dubowick of Rural Hall, NC, uncle Fred (Sylvia) Wilochka of Longmeadow, MA and a multitude of cousins.

Trina and Steve spent 35 years living in Kane, Pennsylvania where they raised their three boys in a truly idyllic setting. Trina was hands-on and very invested in her children’s educations. She treasured the company of her best friends in Kane over coffee. Her ultimate goal was to get to Red River Beach on Cape Cod, where she spent many of her happiest days over the past 10 years. While on the Cape, she enjoyed time spent in her backyard and gardens, exploring new places and revisiting favorites via boat and car, listening to country music, and dining with a small dinner club composed of new friends. She had a Harwich clamming license for 8 years, and loved preparing 4-to-6 pound lobsters and cauldrons of shrimp at home for her family.

Trina was a private person and her life revolved around her husband, her children and their spouses, and her grandchildren. She loved all of them unconditionally and without pause. Trina was a selfless, thoughtful, kind woman who was defined by her generosity of spirit. She put her family before herself, and this will never be forgotten. Her grandchildren nicknamed her “Special Grandma”, and indeed she was.

A small service of family and friends will be held at the family residence at 1pm on Saturday, June 21st. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Christ Church Episcopal, 671 Rt. 28, Harwich Port, MA 02646.
